Being Sad :(

The Hubby left for training today.  It's only for a few days and he's been gone many times before, but the first day is always rough.  Today is especially rough because 1.) this is the first of many trips of him training in the next couple of months 2.) he's training for a possible deployment this time and 3.) it's my first alone in CO.  I have ton of cleaning to do, a friend that is always happy to see me, Wasabi to entertain, a new place to explore, but I still feel like being alone and moping around the house.  Pathetic....I know.

So it's time to put my big girl panties on, get ready for the day, and come up with a plan!

Unfortunately, for me that plan contains a lot of cleaning lol.  I better get started.

Yoga Challenge & Weekend

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  The Hubby and I had a very relaxing one.  We also get a bonus day tomorrow (and then the Hubby leaves for training on Tuesday.)  Saturday we treated ourselves to a session of acupuncture.  It's weird to think of having needles stuck in you as relaxing, but trust me it is!  Even the Hubby enjoys it.  Today we went to church and have been enjoying a mini Netflix marathon of Hell on Wheels.  As anyone else watched it?

I'm still going strong with the yoga.  Go me!

Day 3

This has been my favorite by far!  I really loved all the cat/cow and cobra poses.

Day 4

Ab day.  Ouch!  This one was really hard.  The Hubby had a lot of fun taking pictures of me struggling lol.

Of course, Wasabi had to join in.  I think he's really enjoying the 30 day yoga challenge too!

Yoga Challenge Day 2 and Friday Plans

Good Morning!  Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day.  Sun is shining and the Hubby put some coffee on for me before he headed out to work.  I sat outside and watched Wasabi and the two neighbor dogs play with each other through the fence.  It's so cute! One by one the neighbor dogs come up and let Wasabi give them kisses through the fence.  The neighbor dogs are much bigger and bend down to let Wasabi give kisses.  Then they all run back and forth and in circles.  I think Wasabi needs a four legged brother or sister of his own....one day.

Hubby should be back around lunch time and then is off until Tuesday!  We'll be busy straightening up the house...inside and out.  I'm hoping to head over to the PX sometime today.  I heard the salon is doing free eyebrow waxing and lemme tell you, this girl needs her brows waxed!  I'm also planning on making something big for dinner, so we'll have leftovers for lunches this weekend.  I'll be updating later with pictures of today.  Have a fantastic Friday!

Day 2

The first few stretches in child pose felt amazing!  The next what felt like an eternity in downward dog not so amazing.  The cobra poses and warrior series helped to balance it out.  I can honestly say my shoulders and upper back feel nicely stretched!

30 Day Yoga Challenge Day 1

Do you yoga?

A couple weeks ago I stumbled upon a 30 day yoga challenge series on YouTube by doyouyoga.com.  It's been longer then I care to admit since I've been committed to working out regularly.  Doing yoga for 10-20 minutes once a day for 30 days seems like a good way to slowly get back into the groove.  I guess it's time to go dig out my trusty yoga mat that has been gathering dust since the move.

Day 1 Video

Wasabi was sweet enough to join me in my mini yoga session.  Of course, he can do downward dog perfectly!  He also had a lovely time playfully nipping and licking my fingers and toes and running underneath me to help test my balance.

Overall, I feel I got a great little workout in for under twenty minutes.  I really like how Erin Motz provided different modifications to poses and gave encouragement.  I know my hips are feeling it a bit.

About Me!

I don't want to bore with a super lengthy about me bio.  So I'll break it down into a 10 things about me post.  Here we go....

1.  I'm married to the greatest guy in the world.  Ok, I'll admit I may be a tad bias, but he is pretty amazing.  We've been married for a year and a half and it's been quite the adventure.  He's in the army which, of course, makes me an army wife!  I moved 1300 miles away from my home in PA to be with him in Fort Hood, TX and the army just recently moved us to Fort Carson, CO a few weeks ago.  Be prepared for some army life posts :)

2.  The Hubby and I currently don't have any human children, but we have one very spoiled four-legged child named Wasabi.  Wasabi is a 10lb, black, Chihuahua mix with a GIANT personality.  Love my little man.

3.  I love to cook.  My family and friends would never have guessed I'd learn to love spending time in the kitchen.  I had no idea how to cook anything that didn't require the use of a microwave before I was married.  Now I love spending time in the kitchen (except for doing dishes.)

4.  I have a mad addiction to Pinterest.  I can spend hours a night pinning random things.

5.  I'm currently not working.  Or as I like to put it a Stay at Home Wife since we moved to CO.  The Hubby has a possible deployment coming up early next year, and it's important to us to spend a lot of quality time together before he leaves.  I waitressed for many years, have a degree in paralegal studies, and a background in HR.  I am curious as to what I'll do next.

6.  I'm slowly developing a love for wine.  I'm excited to start visiting some wineries in CO.  Any recommendations?

7.  Coupons, Sales, Freebies!  I love to save money and get a sweet deal on everything and anything.

8.  I have a slight caffeine addiction too.  I've been slowly over the pass year trying to wean myself off of coffee by drinking more tea.

9.  I have a fear of big bugs, rodents, snakes, and lizards.  There were some huge crawly things in TX.  Thankfully, they don't seem as big in CO.

10.  I need help decorating.  Like major help.  This is the first house I know we'll be living in for a few years and I want to make it as homey as possible.

Thanks for reading a little about boring ol' me.  I would love to get to know you all more!
